Hong Chen, assistant professor in biomedical engineering,&＃160;develops ultrasound techniques for noninvasive, targeted, and personalized brain cancer diagnosis and treatment and for understanding brain functions in her Ultrasound Laboratory on the medical campus. IMSE is the home to over 30 scientific instruments with&＃160;facilities that available for use by researchers from WashU as well as other academic institutions and corporations. IMSE facilities includes a 14,000 net sq. ft. facility opened in Fall 2013 which includes a nanofabrication facility and a materials characterization facility.
