Summer Send-Offs These receptions welcome enrolling students and their parents to the university community the summer before their first year. Send-Offs offer fun opportunities for alumni, parents, and current students to welcome new students and let them get to know one another before coming to campus in the fall. We encourage APAP members to attend Summer Send-Offs when possible and help welcome these students to WashU. Traditionally, Send-Offs take place in July and August in select cities and are hosted by volunteer alumni, parents, and friends of the university. Find out if a Summer Send-Off is planned in your area! Please check back often, as more events will be added in the coming weeks. If you are interested in helping with these events, please email us or call us at (314 or 800) 935-4826. Admitted Student Receptions Admitted Student Receptions (returning spring 2023) allow APAP members to reconnect with the students they interviewed and to encourage them to attend WashU.  These events help admitted students and their families choose WashU by providing opportunities for APAP volunteers to share their knowledge and experiences and demonstrate how the university community continues beyond four years and reaches their hometown. Held in early spring, these events are hosted by current parents or alumni in select cities and are attended by alumni, current parents, current students, and admitted or enrolling students and their families. If you are interested in helping with admitted student receptions, please email us or call us at (314 or 800) 935-4826. Find out if an Admitted Student Reception is planned in your area. Please check back often as we are currently in the process of confirming events. To register to attend, please contact APAP. Parent and Family Socials APAP and Parent Engagement & Advancement jointly host a series of virtual Parent and Family Socials in late summer for parents and families of the incoming class. Equal parts celebration and information, these geographically focused events give attendees a chance to get to know other members of the WashU community living in their region. Kick-Offs and Recruitment Happy Hours APAP Kick-Offs are informal social events that allow APAP members and chairs to get to know one another, while providing an opportunity for training. Kick-Offs are held in some, but not all, committee areas. APAP sponsors recruitment happy hours in select cities in order to provide informal social opportunities for APAP members to get to know one another, as well as for other alumni in the area to learn more about APAP. In addition to current APAP members, we invite recent alumni living in the area to attend. contact usMia CampbellCoordinator of Events and Volunteers, [email protected] Volunteer Alumni and Parents Admission Program (APAP) Alumni involvement Parent involvement APAP events Member resources Updates to Alumni and Parents Admission Program (APAP) Volunteer eligibility requirements Black Alumni Council (BAC) Volunteers Eliot Society Volunteers Network Volunteers Reunion Volunteers WashU Engage Volunteers University Advancement MSC 1210-413-130 | 1 Brookings Drive | St. Louis, MO 63130 866-988-7477 | [email protected] Get Involved Regional Networks Shared Interest & Cultural Groups Professional Networks Volunteer Travel with Us Resources WashU CNX Reunion at WashU for Parents & Families for Current Students Learn More University Advancement Giving to WashU Contact Us Facebook Twitter LinkedIn YouTube Instagram ©2024 Washington University in St. Louis
