Inspired by our Chair’s CARE (Clinical Service, Administrative support/oversight, Research, Education) model, this series will carry these themes throughout the academic year. Schedule: Every Wednesday 9-10 a.m., except on weeks with faculty meetings and the fifth Wednesday of the month (following Grand Rounds time from 8-9 a.m.) THE BASICS The descriptors below give a sense of the scope of discussion. Patient Safety/Quality Improvement Focus (following our monthly M&M Grand Rounds) Review of Patient Safety data reports: Build awareness of hospital wide shared safety events; Review relevant journal club articles Research FocusUnderstand the resources and staff within our department and across our campus; Learn about other research endeavors; Share new studies and recruitment efforts; Highlight significant research articles to review Career Development FocusLearn about academic faculty resources from the OFA; Participate in medical education didactics with tools to better teach; Know the promotions/tenure process Clinical Care FocusUnderstand health inequities around socioeconomic status, race, & gender; Know how to welcome/include racial minorities and LGBTQ+ communities; Highlight best billing and charting practices in our clinical care settings Upcoming professional development sessions Previous sessions Previously recorded PDS are available for internal audiences who can log into Box with their WUSTL KEY.
