Knott The Olin Award, which includes business school recognition and a $10,000 prize, is intended to promote scholarly research that has timely, practical applications for complex, real-world management problems. Knott received the award for &＃8220;RQ Innovative Efficiency and Firm Value,&＃8221; forthcoming in the&＃160;Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis. Knott&＃8217;s winning entry&＃8212;one of 14 papers submitted&＃8212;explores RQ&＃8217;s ability to serve as a robust measure of a firm&＃8217;s innovation. RQ is short for &＃8220;research quotient,&＃8221; which is measured as the output elasticity of Research & Development. First developed by Knott in 2008, RQ can be estimated for any firm reporting R&D. During the event Tuesday, which was virtual on Zoom, Knott presented her research findings.
