A searchable listing of WashU courses can be found at courses.wustl.edu.   Registration for summer 2024 opens on March 27. WashU Students Current undergraduate and graduate students should register for summer courses via WebSTAC. For more information about summer courses through Arts & Sciences, please visit the A&S Summer Session webpage. Non-WashU Students Undergraduate and graduate students not currently enrolled in a WashU program may apply as a non-degree seeking student (SNCD). Application links can be found below.   SNCD Undergraduate Students SNCD Graduate Students Academic Advising All currently enrolled WashU students are encouraged to meet with their academic adviser before registering for courses to make sure that the courses will apply to their degree program. Undergraduate students not currently enrolled in any WashU program are encouraged to seek similar advice from Engineering Undergraduate Student Services. Tuition and Payments Tuition for McKelvey School of Engineering 2024 summer courses is $2,284 per unit. Summer bills will be electronically sent on the last business day of the month, beginning at the end of April, and all summer balances will be due in late May. Students owing past due balances from prior semesters, including spring 2024, will not be allowed to register. Nonpayment of tuition and other expenses will result in a Student Accounting hold. Payment Methods Employer Payments: Employer reimbursements that are contingent upon course completion and/or a satisfactory grade will not exempt the student from stated due dates. Embassy Payments: If payment is to be made by an embassy, the student must submit a copy of a letter of certification from the embassy at the time of registration. Embassy payments will not exempt the student from stated due dates. Academic Sessions and Deadlines Summer 2024 Session IMay 20 – Jun 7 Session IIJun 10 – Jul 12 Session IIIJun 10 – Aug 2 Session IVJul 15 – Aug 15 Last day to Add/Drop (without a transcript notation) and receive 100% refund May 22 June 12 June 17 July 17 Last day to Drop (with a “W” on transcript) and receive a 50% refund (no refunds given after this date) May 24 June 14 June 24 July 19 Last Day to Change Grade Option or Withdraw (with a “W” on transcript)  May 31 July 5 July 19 August 9 Session V (Special Session - variable dates between May 20 and Aug 15) The course must be added prior to the first class meeting. If the course meets 3 days or fewer, it must be dropped prior to the start of course for 100% refund. Thereafter, no refund is applied. If the course meets for 4 calendar days up to 1 week, you have 24 hours after the first class to drop for 100% refund. Thereafter, no refund is applied. If you are taking a Special Format course (for example, Weekend or Intensive Format) that meets 2-4 weeks, you have 48 hours after the first class to drop for 100% refund. Thereafter, no refund is applied. If the course meets for 5-6 weeks, you have 4 days after the first class to drop for 100% refund, and 8 days after the first class to drop for a 50% refund. Thereafter, no refund is applied. If the course meets 7 weeks or more, you have 7 days after the first class to drop for 100% refund, and 14 days after the first class to drop with a 50% refund. Thereafter, no refund is applied. In all cases above, the drop deadline (without a transcript notation) corresponds to the 100% refund deadline.  Lab Fee Refunds: Lab fees are refunded only if the course is dropped during the 100% tuition refund period or if the course is canceled. Additional questions about dates and deadlines for McKelvey Summer Sessions can be directed to: [email protected] Course Cancellations and Changes The University reserves the right to cancel any course with insufficient enrollment, to change instructors or classrooms, or to modify courses as necessary. If a class is canceled, a full refund will be issued. Grades and Transcripts Students may choose to enroll in summer courses for a letter grade, pass/fail, or audit based on the grade options allowed by the administering department. Grade option changes can be made via WebSTAC prior to the relevant deadline listed above. A WashU transcript reflecting the final course grade should be ordered through the Office of the University Registrar after the grade is posted. Students can also initiate a transcript request via WebSTAC.   Graduation WashU students planning to receive their degree or certificate upon completion of the summer semester should file an Intent to Graduate via WebSTAC no later than July 1. Degrees will not be posted until September. Diplomas will be mailed to the student's diploma mailing address after degrees have been posted.
