They also provide information about accessible parking and sidewalk routes. Accessibility Maps Accessible Parking Spaces Parking & Transportation Services works with students to provide parking passes that allow for accessible parking. At Washington University, accessible parking permits are available through Parking & Transportation to any student who holds both (1) a valid Washington University parking pass and (2) a state-issued handicapped parking permit. Students who need accessible parking do not need to go through Disability Resources to receive it. They may go directly to Parking & Transportation Services. If a student is having difficulty finding adequate accessible parking on campus, they may contact Disability Resources to discuss their needs. Medical Escort Service The Medical Escort Service is a university operated transportation service to and from destinations on the Danforth campus that is available to students with mobility impairments due to health conditions or disabilities. This service does not provide transportation to or from off campus locations. Students must receive pre-authorization to use this service and should submit the Accessible Parking and Transportation Request Form to register. Once pre-authorized, you must call the dispatch center at 314-935-7777 to request a trip. Services are operated on a first-come, first-served basis. The dispatcher will always provide an estimated time for the van’s arrival when a trip is requested. The Medical Escort Service operates only during the academic session, Monday through Friday. The first trip of the day is at 8:30 a.m., and the last request for service will be accepted at 5:20 p.m. Classroom Accessibility While Washington University has many new, accessible buildings, some classroom buildings are old and not readily accessible. DR works with the university’s registrar’s office to ensure that students with mobility impairments have classes and other events scheduled in accessible rooms. Students who need accessible classrooms should contact DR several months before the start of the semester to ensure smooth scheduling of classroom and meeting space.   Contact us at 314-935-5970 or by email Location: Ground floor of Gregg House, South 40 Office hours: Monday – Friday: 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Related Resources Campus Accessibility Maps See specific building accessibility information, such as the locations of accessible entrances, restrooms, elevators and power assist doors.
