Please review the following for information on Olin Library Study Rooms, Study Rooms in the Danforth Campus Distributed Libraries, and Graduate Student Study Rooms. John M. Olin Library Open Study Areas Study seating in all open areas on all levels of Olin Library – including university study cubbies on Level 1 (in the southwest and northwest areas of the Library) – is available in the Library on a first-come, first-served basis during Olin Library’s open hours. Study Rooms First-Come, First Served Study Rooms Seating in the additional study rooms on the following list is available to all users on a first-come, first-served basis. Ginkgo Room 101 on Level 1 (along the east wall of the Library) Harris Reading Room 211 on Level 2 (along the south wall of the Library) Roffer Lerner Study Room 215 on Level 2 (in the southwest corner of the Library) The Sky Room 332 on Level 3 (inside the Newman Tower of Collections and Exploration) Graduate Study Rooms Please see the Graduate Study Rooms section for more information on Olin Library Graduate Study Rooms. Instruction Room 3 Instruction Room 3 on Level A (along the east wall of the Library) will be accessible to anyone with a valid WashU ID during Olin Library’s open hours. The room is first-come, first-served for drop-in studying when not reserved by the University Libraries. The University Libraries reserve the right to ask others to leave when the room is scheduled/reserved. Morrow Group Study Room 217 Morrow Group Study Room 217 on Level 2 (along the west wall of the Library) will be available for use during Olin Library’s open hours on a first-come, first-served basis. Room 217 is not currently available for reservations; please help us optimize availability by limiting usage to the time you need and choosing other library spaces when you need quiet, individual study. More than one group can use Room 217 at a time as space allows. Reservable Group Study Rooms John M. Olin Library’s five reservable group study rooms are located on the east side of Level 2 (turn right on Level 2 from the Kagan Grand Staircase or turn left after you exit the elevator on Level 2; see Collection Locations for floor plans): Virginia Dowsing Toliver Group Study Room 204 Leicht Group Study Room 205 Hawes Group Study Room 206 Reber Group Study Room 207 Tuteur Group Study Room 208 All rooms come equipped with a table, chairs, whiteboard, and power outlets. Reserve an Olin Library Group Study Room Reservable Group Study Room Policies The rooms are primarily for groups to engage in a collaborative study. The rooms are not for regularly scheduled classes. When the rooms are empty, they are available for walk-in use. Reservations are strongly encouraged and always take precedence over walk-ins. If you made a reservation and no longer need it, cancel it so others can reserve the room. Reservations are available during open John M. Olin Library hours. John M. Olin Library group study rooms are reservable for up to 3 hours per day and up to seven days in advance. Questions? Danforth Campus Distributed Libraries East Asian Library | Gaylord Music Library | Kopolow Business LibraryKranzberg Art & Architecture Library Most Danforth Campus libraries have study seating available. See individual library location pages for respective hours and continue reading for study room details. East Asian Library The East Asian Library Group Study Room 211 is located next to the reading room and nearby the emergency exit door. It is for groups of three or more people, and it has a large table, a whiteboard, ten chairs, electrical outlets, and wireless internet access.  About Reserving Study Room 211 The Group Study Room 211 requires an online reservation and may be scheduled for up to three hours at a time. Reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis. When the room is empty, it is available for walk-in use, but reservations always take precedence over walk-ins. Walk-in individuals or groups are encouraged to make an instant reservation at the East Asian Library service desk.  Groups need to reserve the Group Study Room via the Library Room Reservation system at least one hour in advance. Please contact the East Asian Library at (314) 935-5525 or by email at [email protected] if you need reservation assistance. East Asian Library Group Study Room Policies The primary purpose of the room is to provide a place for students to engage in collaborative and cooperative study in small groups.  The Group Study Room is not available for regularly scheduled classes.  Individuals may reserve the study room for a video conference.   The open hours of the Group Study Room are according to the East Asian Library service hours. Reserve the East Asian Library Study Room Gaylord Music Library Gaylord Music Library has two group study rooms: Room 9 on the basement level and Room 201 on the mezzanine level. These study rooms require the use of stairs beyond the library service desk for access. The group study rooms are available for reservations during the library’s open hours.  Gaylord Music Library Group Study Room Policies The rooms are primarily for groups to engage in collaborative study. The rooms are not for regularly scheduled classes. When the rooms are empty, they are available for walk-in or individual use. Reservations are strongly encouraged and always take precedence over walk-ins. For help with making reservations, visit the Gaylord Music Library service desk. If you made a reservation and no longer need it, cancel it so others can reserve the room. Reservations are available from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Reservations for Gaylord Music Library group study rooms can be made for up to 3 hours per day and up to seven days in advance. Questions? Reserve a Gaylord Music Library Study Room Al and Ruth Kopolow Business Library The Al and Ruth Kopolow Business Library has nine group study rooms, but only seven are available for online reservations. The other two rooms can be used on a first-come, first-served basis unless needed by faculty. The Kopolow Business Library study rooms are available for reservation during the library’s open hours. For assistance, please contact the Kopolow Business Library staff via e-mail at [email protected] or by phone at (314) 935-6963. About Reserving the Kopolow Business Library Study Rooms The seven reservable Kopolow Business Library group study rooms are located just inside Kopolow Business Library on the right-hand side. Reservations for the Kopolow Library group study rooms can be made for up to 3 hours per day and up to seven days in advance. Please visit the Help Desk during its operational hours with any questions. Each study room has six chairs, one table, access to power outlets, and a whiteboard for group work. Groups can reserve rooms for a duration of up to two hours. Users can reserve rooms up to 14 days in advance. Kopolow Business Library Study Room Policies The rooms are primarily for groups to engage in collaborative study. The rooms are not for regularly scheduled classes. When the rooms are empty, they are available for walk-in use. Reservations are strongly encouraged and always take precedence over walk-ins. If you made a reservation and no longer need it, cancel it so others can reserve the room. Reservations are available during open Kopolow Library hours. Reservations for the Kopolow Library group study rooms can be made for up to 3 hours per day and up to seven days in advance. The library reserves the right to deny reservation requests that do not follow the above policies. Reserve a Kopolow Business Library Group Study Room Kranzberg Art & Architecture Library The Kranzberg Art & Architecture Library’s Rome Seminar Room is located next to the library’s copy room. It has movable seating for up to 12 people and an overhead projector connected to a room computer with available laptop connections and A/V equipment. Please only reserve the time you will be using the room. If you are 15 or more minutes late, your reservation is forfeited, and we will open the room to other patrons. About Reserving the Rome Seminar Room The Rome Seminar Room may be scheduled for up to three hours at a time and up to seven days in advance. Reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis and can be made online (see button below) or at the Kranzberg Art & Architecture Library front desk. Please contact the Kranzberg Art & Architecture Library at (314) 935-5268 or by email at [email protected] if you need reservation assistance. Kranzberg Art & Architecture Library Rome Seminar Room Policies The Rome Seminar Room is available for use by individuals or groups of up to 12 people. The Rome Seminar Room is not available for regularly scheduled classes. The Rome Seminar Room is available for reservation and use during the library’s open hours. Please see the Libraries Hours page for details on open hours. Please only reserve the time you will be using the room. If you are 15 or more minutes late, your reservation is forfeited, and we will open the room to other patrons. Reserve the Kranzberg Art & Architecture Library Rome Seminar Room Graduate Study Rooms Olin Library Graduate Study Rooms Olin Library Graduate Study Rooms are accessible to graduate students with a valid Washington University ID during Olin Library’s open hours. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Olin Library has five Graduate Study Rooms: Graduate Study Room 326 on Level 3 (along the north wall of Olin Library) Graduate Study Rooms 213 and 214 on Level 2 (along the south wall of Olin Library) Graduate Study Room A30 on Level A (along the west wall of the Library) Graduate Study Room B25 on Level B (along the west wall of the Library) In addition to the Graduate Study Rooms, Olin Library hosts Graduate Study Carrels on Level A. The Level A graduate study carrels are available on a first-come, first-served basis via check-out from the Help Desk on Level 1. Kranzberg Art & Architecture Library Graduate Study Room The Kranzberg Art & Architecture Library Graduate Study Room A30 (002 D) is accessible to graduate students in the Sam Fox School and Department of Art History & Archaeology during the Kranzberg Art & Architecture Library’s open hours. Seating in the Graduate Study Room is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
