Our efforts are guided by goals outlined in the university’s Strategic Plan for Sustainable Operations. Success in achieving these goals depends on the passion, hard work, and creativity of our entire community of students, faculty, staff, and regional partners. She is excited to work with the Office of Sustainability’s Communications team to continue shedding light on sustainable achievements across campus! At WashU she is also a member of the Student SustainabilityBoard and Washington University Dance Collective. In her free time, you can find her dancing, reading, walking her dog, or baking plant-based desserts. Wissal Boudaoud Office of Sustainability Wissal is a junior from Memphis, TN majoring in Environmental Biology with a minor in Writing. She is interested in environmental public health and hopes to help mitigate consequences caused by environmental issues through research and sustainability focused programs. She is excited to work with the Transportation team to help promote sustainable practices on campus and to be a part of a group of people working towards a mutual goal in helping foster a healthy environment that everyone on campus can enjoy. Melena Braggs Waste Reduction/Diversion Intern Melena is a First Year from Belleville, IL majoring in Computer Science. Her main sustainability related interests are environmental policy and environmental justice. She is excited to create and facilitate engaging programming to further people&＃8217;s knowledge of sustainability. In her free time, Melena enjoys taking pictures and watching TV. Lauren Bruhl Vehicle Electrification Intern Lauren Bruhl is a sophomore double majoring in Environmental Analysis and German, and minoring in the Business of Social Impact. Lauren currently serves as the Vice President of Outreach for Net Impact, a sustainability in business club, and is a WUSA at the First Year Center. She spent the past summer interning at the NJ Department of Environmental Protection, where she initiated the GIS engineering project monitoring process at the Department. In her free time, she enjoys running, reading, and traveling. With her Office of Sustainability internship, Lauren is excited to bring electric vehicles to campus and work towards carbon neutrality through renewable energy research. Marcus Ding Marcus is a sophomore from San Francisco majoring in Environmental Analysis and Philosophy-Neuroscience-Psychology. Outside of the classroom, he is a big fan of a variety of outdoor activities, including hiking and rock climbing. He also enjoys NBA analytics, philosophy readings, and fashion. On campus, he is currently a member of the Global Research and Consulting Club and hopes to help make sustainable choices easier for students on campus and hopes to pursue opportunities related to sustainability in business. Serena Earp Renewable Energy Intern Serena is a sophomore from Dallas, TX studying Environmental Engineering with a minor in Energy Engineering. She is very excited to be working on the renewable energy and vehicle electrification teams this semester, with a focus on improving and monitoring the energy efficiency of campus buildings. Outside of the OOS she is also a part of the Engineers Without Borders and Net Impact groups. After working with Net Impact last year to push for greater sustainability efforts on campus, she can&＃8217;t wait to see the work that the Office of Sustainability accomplishes this year. Katie Hanson Office of Sustainability Katie is a junior from Maryland majoring in Anthropology on the Global Health & Environment track and minoring in Marketing. Prior to college, she took a gap year, where she worked in the Marketing & Communications department for a collection of health clinics for uninsured residents in Washington, D.C. There, she realized her commitment to public health and sustainability, as well as her strong interest in communications campaigns as a tool to improve environmental and health outcomes. Katie has continued this work at public relations agencies over the past few summers. As a member of GlobeMed, she enjoys having discussions with other students interested in public health. Outside of her coursework, Katie enjoys cooking, rollerblading, sewing, and reading. She’s looking forward to working with everyone at the Office of Sustainability and collaborating with WashU offices through the Green Office Program. Tori Harwell Office of Sustainability Tori is a senior from Denver pursuing majors in African and African American Studies and Environmental Analysis. They are involved in interdisciplinary work through research and advocacy as a Mellon Mays Fellow and Udall Scholar. She worked with local communities in Missouri, Colorado, Ghana, and Cape Town to research and build out support for climate & community resiliency. Tori is interested in empowering BIPOC communities to implement their own climate change mitigation tactics and create more equitable green energy governance programs nationally and internationally. In their free time, Tori attended book clubs and jazz jam sessions.  Sofia Martinez Office of Sustainability &＃8211; Green Office Sofía Martínez is a current sophomore majoring in both Environmental Biology and Economics. She’s passionate about sustainability and loves to get involved in local environmental efforts through research and volunteering at the Great Rivers Environmental Law Center. She recently spent a summer in Ireland working on an organic farm where she gained an even greater appreciation for conservation and agriculture. Sofía is looking forward to joining the Green Office and aiding in their mission to assist in sustainability efforts on campus. Mia Phutrakul Office of Sustainability Mia Phutrakul is a junior environmental engineering student from Warrensburg, MO, with passions including environmental justice and sustainable infrastructure. They are actively involved in various clubs on campus, including the Wilderness Project, Burning Kumquat, WUGAs, and Triathlon Club. Mia loves to stay active and explore the great outdoors through activities like running, biking, and backpacking. They are also a dedicated cat lover and enjoy spending time with their pets. Through their academic pursuits and extracurricular involvement, Mia is excited to make a positive impact on the environment and promote sustainable practices. Ellie Rogers Summer Associate Ellie Rogers is a senior from Summit, New Jersey majoring in Environmental Analysis and minoring in Business of Social Impact. In her free time, she enjoys photography, writing, crocheting, and being outside. She spent her last semester in Copenhagen studying Sustainable Development. Ellie is looking forward to working with the OOS to support the development of WashU’s next Strategic Plan for Sustainable Operations. Yash Singh Renewable Energy Intern Yash is a sophomore from Cincinnati, Ohio majoring in Chemical Engineering with minors in Energy Engineering and Computer Science. Yash currently serves as the president of Student Sustainability Board and is a member of Engineers without Borders. Yash is looking forward to helping campus offices become more sustainable as a Green Office Intern with OOS. Elizabeth Sklaire Summer Associate Elizabeth Sklaire is a sophomore from Bethesda, Maryland studying Chemical Engineering with a minor in Environmental Engineering Science. She is inspired by the opportunity for students to make impacts on sustainable developments both inside and outside of St. Louis. With regards to specific environmental initiatives, she is passionate about both water remediation and alternative energy sources. On campus, she participates in the Engineers Without Borders Local Project and Club Running. In her free time, she enjoys running, hiking and anything chocolate-related.
