The power of their work and practice informs CRE2’s Arts & Culture, a project that creates spaces of exchange and imagination—“publics”—within communities both local and global.  We design initiatives with partners and collaborators both on campus and off to multiply opportunities, promote deep exploration through creative practice, empower artists as thought leaders, and expand and amplify the conversations surrounding the work of artists, performers, and arts scholars and critics locally, nationally, and globally. Arts & Culture Partnerships Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum Curatorial Research Intern For the past two years CRE2   has partnered with the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum in hosting Curatorial Research Interns. Interns facilitate research on the Museum’s collection concerning race, ethnicity, and the WASHU & Slavery Project.  Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum Curatorial Research Internship Spring 2024 The Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum is now accepting applications for the Spring 2024 Curatorial Research Internship. The Curatorial Research Internship is a paid, semester-long internship through the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum in partnership with the Center for the Study of Race, Ethnicity & Equity. Race and Opera In spring 2021, CRE2, in partnership with Washington University’s Department of Music and Opera Theatre of St. Louis, began a multi-year exploration of race and opera through scholarly conversations; exchanges between composers, performers, researchers, and arts administrators; and performances by some of the world’s preeminent contemporary musicians. We aim to gain unique insights into the ways in which race and ethnicity have shaped the history of opera and are animating its future.  5 Mar Meet the Makers, An Insider&＃8217;s Look at OTSL&＃8217;s New Works Collective March 5, 2024 7:00 pm &＃8211; 8:00 pm WashU Department of Music & The Sheldon We partnered with Washington University’s Department of Music and The Sheldon to multiply conversations and opportunities surrounding race, ethnicity, and equity through the performing and visual arts.  Artist-in-Residence: Jordan Weber CRE2 was pleased to partner with the Pulitzer Arts Foundation and Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts in hosting Jordan Weber as our artist-in-residence in St. Louis. During his residency, Weber conducted field research in St. Louis, meeting with students and faculty at various sites in the city and connecting with community members to build partnerships in support of a public art project.
