The program works closely with Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Allyship and Social Justice (IDEAS) at Department of Medicine and partners with the Forum for Women in Medicine to build an environment that facilitates career achievement of women faculty and trainees. Guided by an executive committee with faculty representatives from various divisions, ranks, and tracks within the Department of Medicine, Advancing Women in Academic Medicine (AWAM) is a driving force for providing opportunities for professional development, supporting for career advancement, and creating a workplace culture that values equity.
