Our faculty are experts in the management of young women with vaginal and uterine agenesis, primary ovarian insufficiency, polycystic ovarian syndrome and cyclic exacerbation of symptoms in non-gynecologic conditions such as seizure disorders. See faculty listing » Our clinical mission The Division of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology seeks to support families, children, teens and young women with reproductive health concerns. We hope to promote confidence, self-esteem, good personal health and wellness for our patients and their families. Our care team provides extensive services in menstrual management for healthy and disabled patients, contraceptive counseling and prevention of sexually transmitted infections and pregnancy. Our patients have access to genetic counseling, ultrasound imaging, and minimally invasive surgical procedures at both our Central West End and West County locations. We work closely with the physicians at St. Louis Children’s Hospital to coordinate care with the Divisions of Hematology-Oncology, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Dermatology, Urology, Genetics, Endocrinology and Psychology and Psychiatry. See our information for patients » Our research mission Our division is investigating long term outcomes for women who were born with uterine and vaginal agenesis (MRKH) to determine factors that enhance patient acceptance, satisfaction and self-esteem. We are also following young patients with primary ovarian insufficiency to determine if long term outcomes for patient well-being, fertility options, and satisfaction can be enhanced.
