Members of the Friends of Music receive notices of concerts and lectures sponsored by the Department of Music, as well as invitations to special recitals, receptions, and events hosted by the society.   What does my membership provide? Support for students who want to study an instrument, but cannot afford private lessons Year-end merit awards for our most promising students Support for students who have been accepted into competitive summer music programs Sponsorship of the annual Concerto and Aria Competition for WashU students Members of the Friends of Music receive notices of concerts and lectures sponsored by the Department of Music, as well as invitations to special events hosted by the society. Members will also receive invitations to other campus member events. We are always looking for new team members to join our usher corps! With over 80 concerts and events a year, we have lots of opportunities to get involved with the added bonus of attending world-class concerts for free. Job duties include greeting patrons attending concerts, scanning and collecting tickets, being friendly and inviting to patrons, answering patron questions, assisting patrons with special needs, enforcing drinking and cell phone policy, and acting as a friendly representative to the 560 Music Center.   Submit this online form and we will be in touch with a full slate of ushering opportunities!
