Her experience includes designing and managing projects, collecting and organizing data, conducting analyses using a number of different statistical tools, supervising staff, and mentoring students/trainees across levels (undergraduate, masters-level, PhD, MD and residents) from project conception to completion. She has spent much of her research career focused on the etiology of pediatric cancer in both the general and high-risk (Neurofibromatosis Type 1) populations. She has more recently become engaged in research relating to disparities in access to care among children and young adults diagnosed with cancer. She also collaborates with Washington University genomics researchers on the discovery of genomic risk factors for cancer in both adults and children. Johnson is a member of the Institute for Public Health, Siteman Cancer Center and the American Association for Cancer Research. She has a secondary appointment in the Department of Pediatrics at the Washington University School of Medicine. Johnson teaches Foundations in Public Health: Epidemiology and Advanced Data Analysis and is chair of the Epidemiology and Biostatistics specialization in the Brown School&＃8217;s Master of Public Health program.
