Prerequisite Training/Selection Criteria The following are required for applicants to be eligible to start full duties on July 1: A medical degree from an accredited institutionA physician’s license from the Missouri State Board of Healing Arts, BNDD, and DEA.Attain hospital privileges at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital, John Cochran VA Medial Center, and St. Louis Eye and Laser Center.Attain Medicare and Medicaid provider numbers.Graduation from a US ACGME-accredited otolaryngology residency program or plastic surgery residency training program,Three letters of reference — at least two from faculty members of the training program of origin, one of whom is the program chair — provided to the preceptors of the fellowshipA visit to the program site, and interview.Participation in the AAFPRS centralized application process and match. Training Goals and Objectives  The broad educational purpose of this fellowship program is to graduate Facial Plastic surgeons who have superior proficiency in facial cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. Spataro, MD, Assistant Professor Facilities Facial Plastic Surgery CenterBarnes-Jewish HospitalBarnes-Jewish West County HospitalJohn Cochran VA Medical CenterSt. Louis Children’s Hospital Educational Program/Basic Curriculum/Clinical and Research Components The fellowship is accredited by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery with Dr. Gregory Branham as the Program Director and Dr. John Chi as the Co-Director.  Dr. Gregory Branham is the chief of the division of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Washington University.  Dr. John Chi is associate professor of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive  Surgery.  You will also have the opportunity to work with Dr. Emily Spataro, assistant professor of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.  The fellow should find this experience an  enjoyable one and leave this program with the confidence and knowledge to build a quality and ethical facial plastic and reconstructive surgery practice in any setting. Didactic Components The fellow will be responsible for one Grand Rounds presentation during the year and will share responsibility for presentation at trauma conferences, M&M, and Facial Plastic Surgery conferences. The fellow will be responsible for clinical teaching as they staff cases with the Otolaryngology residents. The fellow will also be involved with multiple cosmetic surgery cadaver courses at the practical anatomy skills lab. Evaluation Fellows are evaluated every three months and at the completion of the fellowship.
