Student Outcomes Profiles Siyu Wang For Fun Cardinals Game Hometown Shanghai China Finance Focus Corporate Finance Feeling at Home in St. Louis Aspirations&＃160; My hope is for a career that combines my academic training in finance with my background working as a volunteer with impoverished elementary school students in central China and Sri Lanka. My goal is to work in the field of sustainable economic development and poverty elimination in the Third World with an international financial institution or developmental organization like the World Bank Group.&＃160;&＃160; Why Olin?&＃160; I wanted to attend a school offering hands-on financial education and training. The program at Olin provides students the opportunity to gain on-the-ground experience with case studies and real-world interactions with business leaders and companies. For a foreign student like me, the robust academic and career support at Olin was an additional attraction.&＃160;&＃160; Career Resources I am impressed by the ample academic and career resources at Olin. The career coaches and academic advisors are readily available and easy to reach, which is crucial for foreign students who may be studying abroad for the first time. This support ensures students feel confident and empowered to succeed. Experiencing St. Louis&＃160; At Olin, students are offered many opportunities to learn, grow and connect with others. Of all the social activities available, my favorites have been the various local life experiences organized by the Specialized Master&＃8217;s programs Council. These experiences have allowed me to immerse myself in the vibrant culture of St. Louis and network in new and exciting ways. Faculty As a student without prior knowledge of finance, the exposure to Olin&＃8217;s world-class faculty has been nothing short of amazing.
