Students are selected as finalists for these academic scholarships based on a review of the admissions application. These scholarships do not require a separate application process. Once you have completed the application for admission, you will be considered for the appropriate scholarship for the division to which you are applying. Applicants should review the application instructions below for important details about the selection process. Scholarships renew for four years as long as students are making satisfactory academic progress toward their degree. Application instructions from each academic division Following are specific instructions from each academic division regarding the review and selection process and what they look for as they select finalists. College of Arts & Sciences Ampersand Scholars are selected based on their application for admission, there is no separate application required. The committee will pay particular attention to the question “What are you interested in studying at college and why?” on your application for admission, looking for evidence of interest in academic areas that cross the traditional categories of inquiry in Arts & Sciences (Humanities, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences.) Ampersand Scholarships Up to 16 full-tuition scholarships with $1,000 stipends. Scholars have the first request of select Ampersand Programs in their first year. Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts No separate application is required for either the Fitzgibbon or the Conway/Proetz, although you must submit a portfolio of your work to be considered. James W. Fitzgibbon Scholarship in Architecture Up to one full-tuition scholarship and up to five $10,000 scholarships Conway/Proetz Scholarship in Art Up to one full-tuition scholarship and up to five $10,000 scholarships Olin Business School No separate application is required. The faculty are eager to learn about you from your application for admission. Distinguished Scholars Program Up to 10 full-tuition scholarships McKelvey School of Engineering No separate application is required.
