In addition to providing compassionate, patient-centered care, we conduct clinical research and teach medical students, residents and fellows. See faculty listing » Our clinical mission Our physicians and trainees care for a diverse patient population in the St. Louis metropolitan area and surrounding areas including Illinois. We provide comprehensive family planning care, including the full-range of reproductive options, to reproductive-age women. We also provide general gynecologic care, including minor and major gynecologic surgery, to women of all ages. Our entire team is committed to providing patients outstanding care in a supportive, caring, and nonjudgmental environment. About our patient care » Our educational mission Our division teaches and mentors students and trainees across the continuum of medical education. Our offerings include the Ryan Residency Training Program, a mentored research opportunities across training levels, and a two year Complex Family Planning fellowship. We are passionate about providing exceptional education at all levels and work to inform future physicians – students, residents and fellows – of the public health impact of unplanned pregnancy and restricted access to safe reproductive care. Our research initiatives The Division of Family Planning is highly productive in the area of clinical research, focusing on contraceptive counseling, contraceptive selection and use, and strategies to prevent unintended pregnancy. Washington University is the home of the Contraceptive CHOICE Project, a landmark study that provided over 9,000 women with no-cost contraception and showed significant reductions in unintended pregnancy.
