Merry, MBA &＃8217;82, and Jim Mosbacher have committed $500,000&＃160;to support annual and endowed scholarships for Olin Business&＃160;School students. Their gift was structured as a challenge to&＃160;attract new&＃160;Eliot Society Members, and it matched new Eliot&＃160;Society membership gifts at any level. Merry is currently president&＃160;of the William Greenleaf Eliot Society, and she and Jim are both&＃160;partners at St. Louis-based investment firm Edward Jones. &＃8220;We&＃8217;re committed to making education affordable for all students.&＃160;As Eliot Society members, our gift not only supports scholarships&＃160;for talented students, but also world-class faculty, innovative&＃160;research, and outstanding academic programs,&＃8221; Merry said. TheMosbachers have been significant supporters of Olin and the Eliot&＃160;Society since 1983. They are also role models and mentors for&＃160;more than 200 WashU alumni&＃8212;more than half from Olin&＃8212;who are&＃160;employed at Edward Jones. Like the Mosbachers, dozens of alumni&＃160;working at Edward Jones volunteer their time and expertise in Olin&＃160;classrooms as guest speakers and with students through mentoring&＃160;programs and through their financial support for the Edward Jones&＃160;Scholarship Program. Merry Mosbacher was honored with a Distinguished Alumni&＃160;Award in 2012. She was recognized as a St. Louis Woman of&＃160;Achievement in 2013 and has been named one of the most&＃160;influential businesswomen in St. Louis by the St. Louis Business&＃160;Journal. Today, as principal of Insurance and Annuity Products&＃160;at Edward Jones, she oversees more than $6 billion in sales a year.
