The Music Library contains listening facilities as well as study and seminar space.Library information and hoursPerformance VenuesAt Washington University in St. Louis, we take great pride in providing high quality performance spaces for our students.  Because of our commitment to excellence, we have purchased Steinway pianos for each of our six primary performance venues, where we present classical and other types of music to the campus community. Our newly-renovated 560 Music Center boasts three distinct performance venues: the E. Desmond Lee Concert Hall, the Ballroom/Theater, and the Recital Hall.  These three spaces can accommodate events from solo recitals to full orchestra concerts. The E. Desmond Lee Concert Hall seats 1,115, making it the largest performance venue on campus.  Home to our Symphony Orchestra, this venue also features faculty recitals, performances with the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra, and visiting artists. The Pillsbury Theatre is the most versatile venue in the 560 Music Center.  Seating approximately 300, it accommodates many types of events, from solo recitals and jazz performances to receptions and social gatherings. With seating for 75, the Recital Hall provides an intimate performance environment.  This space is frequently used for solo recitals, student recitals, and master classes. Our department also holds performances in various venues on the Danforth campus: Graham Chapel houses the Roland Quest Organ, which was renovated in 2004.  Solo recitals, visiting artist appearances, and choral concerts often take place in this 900-seat venue.
