Each year, around 100 new Scholars are accepted into a new two-year cohort of the program. Scholars come from dozens of disciplines and have been sponsored by over 200 colleges and universities—ranging from small liberal arts colleges to large Research 1 institutions. WashU will select two graduate scholars to complete a two-year appointment. Each Scholar will receive a $3,000 stipend in year one and sponsorship for one summer in the summer Humanities Digital Workshop. In year two scholars will receive a $4,000 stipend and up to $2,000 toward attending the HASTAC conference (held biennially). Requirements/Commitments  The scholar commits two years to: Work with a digital humanities mentor Work on digital humanities projects for the Libraries under the guidance of the mentor an average of five to ten hours per week. Meet with their mentor regularly for the duration of the fellowship Write a blog post about their fellowship experience Participate in a summer Humanities Digital Workshop Attend the HASTAC conference Washington University Libraries commit two years to: A mentor to support the scholar in pursuing digital humanities methods Highlighting the work of the scholar Supporting the scholar to attend the HASTAC conference Sponsoring the scholar to participate in the HDW summer workshop one of the two years Application Details All graduate students with an interest in applying for this opportunity are encouraged to reach out to Sarah Swanz ([email protected]) no later than October 25, 2023. All final applications will require sponsorship by the Libraries and are due by October 31, 2023.
