We provide exploratory tools, programming, opportunities and support for all students, including those who choose to explore or pursue careers outside academia.  Pivot 314 Fellowship This yearlong program, presented by the Office of the Provost and the Skandalaris Center for Interdisciplinary Innovation and Entrepreneurship, offers graduate students curated programming focused on professional development, strengthening leadership and communications skills, as well as internship opportunities. National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity (NCFDD) The NCFDD offers resources for online research productivity, academic mentoring, and career development. Through the WashU Institutional Membership, all WashU faculty, graduate students, postdocs, and trainees can enroll in a free individual membership. LinkedIn Learning LinkedIn Learning is an on-demand learning solution designed to enhance the learner’s experience and provide skills and knowledge to facilitate a more informed and capable university community. All current Washington University students, faculty, and staff have access to LinkedIn Learning’s resources, which cover a broad range of topics from Adobe to Zoom. Imagine PhD ImaginePhD is a free online career exploration and planning tool for PhD students and postdoctoral scholars in the humanities and social sciences. Humanities and social sciences PhD students and their mentors have long recognized the need for more resources to help bridge the knowledge gap between doctoral education and the realm of career possibilities. Career Advising Students can meet with a career advisor at WashU’s Career Center to discuss careers, set goals, and plan next steps. InterSECT Job Simulations InterSECT is an online platform that allows PhD-level biomedical scientists, regardless of professional stage, to explore future career options. Versatile PhD Versatile PhD is a robust online resource designed to help members of the graduate community who are interested in exploring non-academic career options. My IDP The Individual Development Plan (IDP) concept is commonly used in industry to help employees define and pursue their career goals. myIDP is a unique, web-based career-planning tool tailored to meet the needs of PhD students and postdocs in the sciences. Big Interview Students can watch video lessons on how to ace an interview, and record mock-interview videos with virtual interviewers who can ask either general or industry-specific questions.
