Excited to resume important symposia events in-person, Forces Reshaping the World featured the work of seed grant awardees who have received funding from the McDonnell International Scholars Academy and our campus partners over the last three years. Through our seed grant initiatives, the McDonnell Academy launched more than 65 new research projects in 30+ countries. These projects align with Washington University’s “Here and Next” Strategic Plan in the thematic areas of environmental research, social innovation, global health challenges, and digital transformation. Each mentor also serves as an ambassador. The Ambassadors are distinguished faculty who serve as mentors to Scholars and are charged with strengthening collaboration with our partner universities. Collaborative efforts engage WashU faculty and students, and those of the partner universities, activities that enhance scholarship and international understanding.
