Fellows will enjoy a rewarding summer research experience at one of the nation’s top universities. About the Program From May 28 – August 2, 2024, students will be immersed in rigorous research skill training (e.g., critical thinking, literature reviews and bench skills, like histology, PCR, ECG, microscopy, image analysis, etc.) and cutting-edge and stimulating projects that advance the state-of-the-art in cardiovascular research. The AHA/WashU CardS program will also provide the support, training, and experiences students need to improve oral and written communication skills and prepare for graduate studies and careers in fighting heart disease and stroke. Each student will be matched to and supported by a faculty mentor and a bench mentor for the immersive research experience. Students will be selected for their motivation, specific research focus and relevance of work to cardiovascular biology. Prior research experience is not necessary. Application deadline is February 1, 2024.
