Answered By: Services *Interlibrary Loan Last Updated: Apr 25, 2023     Views: 6723 What is Interlibrary Loan? Interlibrary Loan is a transaction between two libraries to lend materials to each other on a short-term basis. Olin Library conducts ILL on behalf of faculty, students, and staff from all disciplines and departments except for the Medical and Law Libraries.  They have separate ILL operations. Conditions for interlibrary loans are set by the National Interlibrary Loan Code of the American Library Association and by individual libraries. It is the prerogative of the lending library to set the loan period, refuse to lend materials, withhold permission to photocopy, and/or restrict materials to library use. As the borrowing library, we must adhere to all rules and restrictions of the lending library. Before requesting through Interlibrary Loan, please make sure the desired materials are not available through WU Libraries Catalog  or MOBIUS. How to use Interlibrary Loan? After logging into ILLiad click "New Requests" in the top menu bar. Select the appropriate request type, and fill out as much identifying information as possible. Submitting more information helps to guarantee you get the right material. When finished click "Submit Request."
