Godbe, MD, PhD, and Adrian Sanchez MD, PhD, have been awarded resident research grants from the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA). The goal of the grant is to provide young radiologists with the opportunity to gain insight and experience in scientific investigation while they’re still in training. Cooper is advancing the TREM1-PET for the characterization of myeloid inflammation after traumatic brain injury in mice, Godbe is developing a multimeric PET radiotracer for molecular imaging of multiple myeloma, and Sanchez is working on optimizing AI performance in breast cancer screening. All three, currently on the research residency track, will join the list of trainees in the TOP-TIER T32 program August 1. David Ballard, MD, assistant professor of radiology, received RSNA’s research scholar grant, given to support junior faculty members who have completed resident and fellowship programs, but haven’t been recognized as independent investigators. Ballard, director of MIR’s 3-D Printing Lab, completed both a radiology residency and an abdominal imaging fellowship at MIR as well as a T32 research fellowship in the TOP-TIER program.
