Student Outcomes Profiles Dan Oleson Residence St. Louis MO Undergraduate BS in Business Administration Analyst The Boeing Company No Other Program Compares Industry Interest I work in the aerospace, defense and space manufacturing and services industry. My day-to-day responsibilities vary greatly, and I’m one part of the larger business acquisition team. I work with my technical counterparts to interpret RFPs (Requests for Proposals) and estimate the cost to complete the work packages requested by our customers. Why Olin? I wanted an in-person MBA experience, and in St. Louis, no other program compares to Olin for its excellence and discussion-based forum. The alumni base was also a motivating factor. Faculty All of the faculty members have experience in the fields they teach and have spent time at the top of the industry. Several are still working in the industry while teaching, which gives a unique perspective. I took a class on financial Crisis over time, and my professor was working at the Federal Reserve in St. Louis and discussed the sentiment at the Fed during the post-Covid economy. Advice for Prospective Students If you are on the fence about joining the program because you are worried about the time commitment, my advice is to shadow a class so you can talk with current students. The program is very flexible, and there are multiple class types to work around the schedule of someone with a full-time job. Fun Fact I have a “pandemic puppy.” About two-and-a-half years ago, I got a German Shepherd, and she’s been keeping me on my toes ever since. All of the faculty have experience in the fields they teach and have all spent time at the top of the industry. Several are still working in the industry while teaching, which gives a unique perspective.
