AffordabilityIn 2019, Chancellor Martin announced a bold new program that provides a free undergraduate education to qualifying incoming students in Missouri and southern Illinois.Affordability Undergraduate Tuition and Fees for 2024-25 University Charges Tuition $64,500 Student activity fee $644 Student health and wellness fee $646 Average housing and food (university meal plan)* $21,854 Total university charges $87,644 *Housing and food (university meal plan) rates depend on the room and meal plan selected. The costs above are for full time undergraduate students. Housing and food (university meal plan) are based on a modern double-room in university housing and the Platinum Plan meal plan. Expenses not billed by the university will vary by student. Other Expense Estimates These expenses are not billed by the university. The estimates below are based on surveys of current WashU students. The calculator takes approximately seven minutes to complete.Net Price Calculator Graduate School and Continuing & Professional Studies Costs Financial aid, for many students, is an important consideration in the decision to pursue higher education. For admission to a graduate program, you should apply directly to the school or department in which you are interested. Please check with the graduate school individually concerning financial assistance application processes and deadlines. The Washington University Student Health Insurance Plan is billed to students in the fall semester. To opt out of the plan you must prove that you have adequate coverage through another plan by September 5th.
