Kirschstein National Research Service Awards for Individual Predoctoral Fellows (Parent F31) Supports predoctoral students to obtain individualized, mentored research training while conducting dissertation research in scientific health-related fields relevant to the missions of the participating NIH Institutes and Centers. Five-year fellowship Includes an annual stipend based upon the yearly-published NRSA fellowship stipend scale. Also includes tuition support and an institutional allowance to defray costs such as health insurance, research supplies, equipment, books and research travel. Three annual deadlines in April, August, December Eligibility: U.S. Citizen or permanent resident using fellowship for PhD program Preparation: Applicants should work with their faculty mentor and plan a two- to three-month preparation period before the deadline. Sponsor website: https://researchtraining.nih.gov/programs/fellowships/F31 *National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) The NSF GRFP supports outstanding graduate students in NSF-supported science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines who are pursuing research-based Master&＃8217;s and doctoral degrees at accredited U.S. institutions. Five-year fellowship Three years of financial support including an annual stipend of $34,000 and a cost of education allowance of $12,000 to the institution. Deadline: October Eligibility: US citizen or US national or US Permanent Resident, as well as a graduating senior, first year master’s student, or first or second year doctoral students who did not earn a master’s degree and have not applied previously for the fellowship while in graduate school. Preparation: Applicants should work with their faculty mentor and plan a two- to three-month preparation period before the fall deadline. Sponsor website: https://www.nsfgrfp.org/ American Heart Association (AHA) Predoctoral Fellowship To enhance the integrated research and clinical training of promising students who are matriculated in pre-doctoral or clinical health professional degree training programs and who intend careers as scientists, physician-scientists or other clinician-scientists, or related careers aimed at improving global cardiovascular, cerebrovascular and brain health. One- to two-year award Annual stipend that matches the NIH predoc scale. An additional $4,200 to apply to health insurance, and $2,000 for research-related project costs. Eligibility: Full-time student working toward degree: PhD, MD, DO, DVM, PharmD, DDS, DrPH, or PhD in nursing or equivalent clinical health science doctoral degree program. At the time of award activation, the candidate must have completed initial coursework and be at the stage of the program where he/she can devote full-time effort to research or activities related to the development into an independent researcher or a related career aimed at improving global cardiovascular health. Various opportunities are available to support graduate study and research, for example the American Fellowships, the International Fellowships, or the Research Publication Grant in Engineering, Medicine and Science. The Selected Professions Fellowships support women of color in full-time study in a master&＃8217;s or professional degree in a program in which women are underrepresented . Award: various. Award: 2-year fellowship. $42,000 annual stipend. Tuition and fees paid for two years. Paid visit to Facebook headquarters for annual summit. Engagement with Facebook researchers. Eligibility: Applicants must be full-time PhD students who are enrolled in an accredited university (in any country) by the start of the Fellowship (i.e., Fall 2022). Students must be involved in ongoing research related to one or more relevant disciplines. Students must remain enrolled full-time for the duration of the Fellowship to receive program benefits. Students should not apply for Facebook Fellowships if they are actively being funded by Facebook through some other sponsorship or collaboration and/or if they are actively being supervised (or co-supervised) by a Facebook researcher. S. citizens, U.S. nationals, U.S. permanent residents (holders of a Permanent Resident Card), as well as individuals granted deferred action status under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program (DACA) program, political asylees, and refugees, regardless of race, national origin, religion, gender, age, disability, or sexual orientation. Individuals with evidence of superior academic achievement (such as grade point average, class rank, honors or other designations); Individuals committed to a career in teaching and research at the college or university level in a research-based field of science, social science, or humanities; Awards will be made for study in research-based Ph.D. or Sc.D. programs; practice-oriented degree programs are not eligible for support. The Ford Fellowship focuses on diversity in academia by providing funding for diverse students, or those who have worked with diverse populations, who aspire to become university faculty researchers and teachers. Applications emphasize the proposed research and past research experiences along with identity and preparation for a career as a professor. Fellows are selected based on technical endeavors, commitment to the physical sciences, and moral and ethical values. Award: Up to 5 years of support; $ 34,000/nine-month personal stipend; Full tuition equivalent; Renewable annually for up to five years; $5,000/year stipend for fellows with dependent children. Eligibility: US citizens or US permanent residents. The applicant must be in their first year of their doctoral program. Applying students must be enrolled in a Ph.D. program in science, math, or engineering. Award: 2-year fellowships of $32,500 / year Eligibility: Applicant must be working toward a Ph.D. in an academic institution in the U.S. or Canada. No limitations have been placed on citizenship.
