Brown School students who incur fines at other Washington University libraries and through Mobius will be subject to the policies of the lending libraries. All fines will be subject to standard Olin Library fines policies.   Extenuating Circumstances: If a student feels the circumstances around incurring a fine merit a fine waive, they may discuss the issue with the library director. It is up to the director’s judgment whether to waive the fine. Failure to Return an Overdue Book: A borrower who fails to return a book after the second overdue notice will be charged for replacement. Brown School Library Lost/Stolen Books and Replacement Charges Brown School Library keeps the same policy for lost/stolen books as Olin Library.   Brown School Library holds borrowers financially responsible for all library material checked out on their accounts. Borrowers are responsible for notifying our Library Associate immediately if library material is lost or stolen. To speak with our Library Associate, borrowers may visit the library services desk, call 314-935-6633, or e-mail [email protected]. Our Library Associate will assist borrowers in resolving their accounts or direct questions and concerns to the Library Director. Charges for lost and stolen library material are to help Brown School Library replace the material and make it available for future use. A non-refundable $15.00 processing fee is charged in addition to the replacement cost. Replacement costs vary for Brown School Library’s material. MOBIUS items have a replacement cost of $100.00 and a $20.00 processing fee. Payment by the borrower in no way implies transfer of ownership of library property. Unreturned items remain the property of the library. If the borrower finds and returns the material in good condition after paying for the material, the replacement cost will be refunded or credited, but the processing fee will remain. Paying Fines and Replacement Charges Student library charges are transferred to University Billing on a monthly basis. As a result, library debts are included on students’ University bills and may result in a ‘hold’ on a student’s record. Prior to being transferred to University Billing, fines will be viewable through the View Your Own Record function in My Catalog. Recent charges that have not yet been sent to University Billing and all non-student charges can be paid online with a debit or credit card. Patrons may pay fines here. If paying overdue fines please choose the Library Fines option and if paying for lost items please choose the Book Replacement option. Once any charges have been transferred, student payments can be made at Student Financial Services located at Room 75 North Brookings Hall or payments can be mailed to University Billing P.O. Box 14627 St. Louis, MO 63150-4627 Details for library charges, past and present, are always available upon request from Olin Library Circulation. Note: Fines are per day unless marked differently. Lost books are the cost of book or default price, plus processing fee. Lost MOBIUS and ILL items will be subject to replacement costs charged by owning library, plus processing fee.     << Previous: Field InstructorsNext: Lost and Found >> Last Updated: Jun 20, 2024 3:52 PM URL: https://libguides.wustl.edu/BrownSchoolLibrary Print Page Login to LibApps Subjects: Public Health, Social Work For Students For Faculty For Staff Visitors & Alumni Ask Us Research Support Staff Directory Make a Gift University Libraries MSC 1061-141-B Washington University in St. Louis 1 Brookings Dr. St. Louis, MO 63130 Instagram Facebook
