The graduates reflected on their time at MIR, recognized outstanding peers and mentors, and marked this career milestone with a night to remember. J. Daniel Giardina, MD, associate professor of radiology, was selected as the Teacher of the Year for his dedication to providing excellent radiology education. The Distinguished Teaching Award, which recognizes those who provide excellent teaching and mentorship to MIR trainees, was given to Sanjeev Bhalla, MD, professor of radiology and vice chair for education; Tyler J. Fraum, MD, assistant professor of radiology; Mark J. Hoegger, MD, PhD, assistant professor of radiology; and Anup S. Shetty, MD, associate professor of radiology. Gregory J. Whener, MD, PhD, diagnostic radiology resident, received the RSNA Roentgen Resident/Fellow Research Award, which recognizes an outstanding trainee whose work has advanced radiologic research. Katharina Feister, MD, was honored as Fellow of the Year.
