What drew me most to WashU Olin is its unwavering commitment to fostering an environment that seamlessly integrates academic excellence with practical application on a global scale. In today’s interconnected world, possessing a global mindset is imperative for understanding businesses and learning from diverse perspectives across the world. Favorite Class I would highlight Accounting as my favorite class, thanks to Tom Fields. Tom’s approach was enlightening and enjoyable; he imparted knowledge through real-life examples and engaging case studies. The class became a dynamic and collaborative learning journey. His teaching prowess further enriched the experience. Who says numbers can't be fun? Fun Fact I used to play soccer in the highest league achievable for women in Germany. Transitioning from the soccer pitch to the business arena, I bring the same commitment, discipline and collaborative spirit, fostering a unique perspective that intertwines the strategic mindset of sports with the intricacies of business. Advice for Prospective Students My advice is to authentically showcase your true self in your application materials. At WashU Olin, individuality is celebrated, and everyone’s unique path contributes to the collective success of the community. Don’t be afraid to share your personal and professional journey‚ let your experiences, passions and aspirations shine through. Trust that your genuine self will resonate with the vibrant and collaborative culture at WashU Olin. Career Journey Olin has been a cornerstone in my career journey, providing a comprehensive foundation for success. The curriculum’s emphasis on experiential learning was pivotal in shaping my entrepreneurial venture and securing an internship at PepsiCo in New York. Faculty Support The faculty’s unwavering support has been a game-changer; they’ve shared their expertise and been there for me, answering questions and providing invaluable guidance not just for my business but also for personal and professional growth. WashU Olin’s consistent recognition as the number one program for entrepreneurship underscores its commitment to fostering a culture of innovation.
