The physicians in the Cardiac Procedure Center have a long tradition of innovation and clinical excellence. The catheterization laboratory is one of the highest volume centers regionally, and has become a major referral center for complex coronary interventions when other therapeutic modalities have failed. The Structural Heart Disease program within the Cardiac Procedure Center performs transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) and percutaneous mitral valve repair (MitraClip). The Structural Heart Program was the first program in the St. Louis metro region to perform the TAVR, and continues to be involved with the latest clinical trials that are evaluating new percutaneous therapies for valvular heart disease. The Structural Heart Program also performs interventional procedures for left atrial appendage closure (Watchman implantation), treatment of perivalvular leaks, and   some congenital heart defects.
