Minimum Degree Requirement for the Certificate in Health Equities and Disparities: Masters or Doctoral degree, MD, DO, DPT, PhD, PharmD. Will accept students concurrently enrolled in a master’s or doctoral degree program. Requirements: The certificate will require minimum 15 total credits, including three core courses and three additional elective courses. All electives will be reviewed and approved prior to registration to ensure relevance to the Certificate in Health Equities and Disparities. Credit: All core courses must be taken for a letter grade, and elective courses may be taken pass/fail. Required Core Courses: Introduction to Health Disparities and the Structural and Social Determinants of Health (2 credits, Fall 1 & 2) Ethics in Population and Clinical Heath Research (1 credit, Spring 1 & 2) One of followings: Introductory clinical epidemiology (3 credits, Fall 1) Applied Qualitative Methods for Health Research (3 credits, Fall 1 & 2) Dissemination and Implementation Science (3 credits, Spring 1 & 2) Randomized Controlled Trials (3 credits, Fall 1 & 2) Elective Courses: Introductory clinical epidemiology (3 credits, Fall 1) Applied Qualitative Methods for Health Research (3 credits, Fall 1 & 2) Dissemination and Implementation Science (3 credits, Spring 1 & 2) Randomized Controlled Trials (3 credits, Fall 1 & 2) Introductory biostatistics for clinical research (3 credits, Fall 1) Intermediate clinical epidemiology (3 credits, Fall 2) Introduction to System Dynamics for Advancing Equity (Danforth campus, 1 credit, Fall) Principles of Shared Decision Making and Health Literacy in the Clinical Setting (3 credits, Spring 1 & 2) Applying Applications for the 2024-25 academic year are due no later than June 16, 2024.
