Call us (314) 935-6810 Email us [email protected] The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) provides support for all University-managed classrooms Monday through Thursday between 8:00am and 7:00pm and Friday between 8:00am and 5:00pm.  We provide multimedia training and on-call technical support for instructors, and we oversee maintenance of all classroom equipment and physical conditions.  Our staff makes every effort to solve problems as quickly as possible to ensure minimal disruption of classes. Maintenance of Multimedia and Classroom Physical Conditions The CTL supports the teaching environment by monitoring the condition of University-managed classrooms, including physical conditions, cleanliness, equipment usability, lighting, and furniture.  Staff regularly visit the classrooms to correct reported issues, service and upgrade AV equipment, and work with Facilities Management on reporting and ensuring repair of the classroom.  We also maintain the room PC and software, network, and AV hardware to ensure that all systems are functioning properly. To report an issue in a University-managed classroom, please call us at (314) 935-6810 or email us at [email protected]. For more information on our classroom technology and the support we offer, please view our Classroom Technology and Training page. Basic Room Equipment Troubleshooting My Picture is not displaying on the projection screen Ensure you have selected the proper source- Room PC for the computer in the cabinet, HDMI (picture of cable callout), VGA (picture callout), AirMedia (picture of screen callout) depending on the connection you are using for your laptop, or DVD, or Doc Cam.  If using a laptop, ensure you have screen mirroring enabled.  Also note that inexpensive non-OEM adapters do not always have sufficient bandwidth to work in a classroom environment- particularly when used with Apple laptops. I don’t hear any sound Make sure the volume on the touch panel is not muted.  Try increasing the volume level on the touch panel.  If using the Room PC or a laptop, ensure the audio is not muted or set too low on the computer. I need to bring a presentation or other files in to use on the classroom computer We recommend that you save the file(s) to a cloud storage service (WashU officially supports WUSTL Box) or a USB flash drive.  USB ports are easily accessible on the front of the computer in the cabinet. The sound and/or video clips in my PowerPoint presentation are not playing While PowerPoint embeds images into the presentation, it does not embed sound clips or video clips. You must save your sound and video clips separately into the same directory as the presentation, and COPY THEM OVER with the presentation.
